DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS | FULL TIME

Job Description

The Director of Operations (DOO) to organize and oversee the daily operations of our Catering and School Program. Our fast-growing business requires a DOO that is an excellent and efficient leader who can streamline and implement company policies and procedures. He/She will be the one to ensure the business is ran in a compliant and productive manner through superior management of processes and coaching of staff, strong problem-solving abilities, and makes sound decisions that augment and accelerate corporate growth.

  • Support and oversee the daily operations of the following departments: Sapphire at School, Sapphire at Work and Sapphire Catering.
  • Ensure all three departments are properly staffed for daily operations and scheduled events.
  • Support by filling in at such departments when needed.
  • Audit weekly schedules ensuring efficiency and coverage.
  • Assist with recruitment and the interview process leading up to on-boarding.
  • Be the lead Sapphire liaison with all VIP clients and executive school and corporate contacts.
  • Attend weekly, biweekly and monthly meetings as the lead Sapphire representative with such VIP Clients and executive school and corporate clients.
  • Working with our third-party accounting team, review financial information for the three departments and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability.
  • Search for efficiencies and cost savings by cross utilizing products.
  • Review and sign off on BEO proposals, ensuring standards of pricing are being utilized and strong bottom line profit margins.
  • Set competitive sales goals for continued business growth.
  • Support Human Resources and oversee implementing policies and procedures.
  • Support Human Resources with terminations and separation paperwork.
  • Conduct coaching and counseling documentations.
  • Evaluate and analyze overall performance of team members.
  • Supervise Salaried and Hourly employees.
  • Conduct 90 day and Annual reviews.
  • Problem Solving.
  • Physically visit and audit each operating space on a weekly and biweekly basis.
  • Attend all VIP catering events organized between the three departments.
  • Execute as the lead on catering events when needed.
  • Attend weekly BEO meetings.
  • Ensure the quality of service, equipment and food are always exceptional.

Work Environment

This role is based out of an office setting, however, is mostly facilitated offsite at the many different locations as well as offsite booked catering spaces. This role requires frequent driving.

PREP COOK / STEWARD | FULL TIME

Job Description

As a Prep Cook/Steward your goal is to be committed to providing our staff and guests with exceptional service, quality, and value. Cleanliness of the food service area is essential, as well as maintaining the quality and freshness of the food while performing tasks directed by the Sous Chef. The right candidate must possess the ability to physically handle knives, pots and other display items as well as grasp, lift and carry/transport up to 30 pounds to every area of the kitchen. In addition, this position requires the ability to use and handle various kitchen machinery including but not limiting to slicers, grinders, mixers, etc. This position is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc. This position also ensures the dish washing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility.

PROGRAM MANAGER | FULL TIME

Job Description

The Sapphire At School Manager for the Sapphire at School Program is responsible for overseeing the overall operation of all school facilities, new business outreach, and faculty relationships. This position will be the reporting manager for all Sapphire at School employees and Management.

The position will support the Sapphire at School brand as a premier school nutrition program with a distinctive local and national reputation. The ideal candidate will work manage and maintain a good working relationship with the School Administration and Parents at all time while supporting the AG Consulting staff through proper communication and leadership.

This position will also be responsible for business outreach and networking within the Southern California Education system to bring in new prospective clients to the Sapphire At School department.

  • Overseeing and finalizing all administrative functions: Bookkeeping, finalizing all invoicing, Reviewing and approving all menu proposals, nutritional breakdowns, and catering BEO’s.
  • Oversees the general operation of food and beverage for the Sapphire At School Program.
  • Must be engaged in general administration (filing, email correspondence, data input, etc.).
  • Responsible for all training of all Sapphire At School personnel, including leaders, and Management Team.
  • Oversee department payroll and ensure accuracy with reporting.
  • Responsible for maintaining & updating the SAS App Portal.
  • Responsible for manifesting nutritional break downs for school program.
  • Responsible for being present for all after hours and weekend School Catering when necessary.
  • Responsible for participating in progress reviews for all reporting staff members.
  •  Visit schools frequently and schedule meetings with our point of contact at each school monthly.
  • Responsible for overseeing the overall safety and sanitation of the schools.
  • Meet with Production Chef’s to ensure all school needs are communicated clearly and effectively.
  • Responsible for business outreach and overall growth of the Sapphire at School Program.
  • Educate and promote to our points of contact about our Summer School Programs.
  • Attend monthly meetings with Executive Committee.
  • Meet quarterly with Sapphire at School on-site leaders.
  • Meet regularly with Director of Operations.
  • Other duties, as directed at the sole discretion of the CEO.

Essential Functions
