PREP COOK / STEWARD | FULL TIME

Job Description

As a Prep Cook/Steward your goal is to be committed to providing our staff and guests with exceptional service, quality, and value. Cleanliness of the food service area is essential, as well as maintaining the quality and freshness of the food while performing tasks directed by the Sous Chef. The right candidate must possess the ability to physically handle knives, pots and other display items as well as grasp, lift and carry/transport up to 30 pounds to every area of the kitchen. In addition, this position requires the ability to use and handle various kitchen machinery including but not limiting to slicers, grinders, mixers, etc. This position is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc. This position also ensures the dish washing area is maintained as a clean, safe and sanitary facility.

  • Helps with overall daily food preparation for breakfast, snack, lunch and school caterings.
  • Adheres to the designated cooking methods to ensure all menu items are consistently presented for maximum nutrition and flavor.

  • Assists with the cleaning, sanitation and organization of the kitchen, walk-in coolers and all storage areas.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested by the Chef or Sous Chef or School Manager.
  • Ensures that food is properly stored and labeled to ensure they are used within a proper time frame.
  • Maintain all company standards at all time and complete all tasks as assigned by management.
  • Assist Sous Chef with maintaining inventory.
  • Other duties as directed.

Job Description

As a Line Cook your goal is to be committed to providing our guest with exceptional service, quality, and value. In addition, this position requires the ability to use and handle various kitchen machinery including but not limiting to slicers, grinders, mixers, etc. The ideal candidate must be innovative, detail-oriented, and a multi-tasker with good oral communication and interpersonal relationship skills.

  • Supports on site catering when needed.
  • Assures presentation of all menu items adhere to established standards.
  • Assures all menu items are prepared according to established policies and procedures.
  • Assists with the training of new employees.
  • Operation of POS touch screen computer.
  • Prepares daily written menu board for display.
  • Prepares outside serving areas, sanitize, and setup.
  • Supports Lead attendant with duties when necessary.
  • Assures menu items are prepared in sufficient quantities to satisfy volumes.
  • Providing excellent & comprehensive customer service to students, parents, and school staff members.
  • Serves food in proper pre-determined portion sizes.
  • Serves food that is the correct serving temperature and quality. Any substandard quality food must be brought to the attention of the food and nutrition manager and properly discarded.
  • Maintains appearance of all equipment and serving counters.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
